World-renowned electronic payment processing service and e-money wallet company NETELLER is announced to have provided their customers with Bitcoin deposit option.
According to one of the company’s spokespersons, the functionality is very likely to become available to users this week already. Previously, however, the processor officially refused to deal with BTC and altcoins in any manner, implying in their terms and conditions there is absolutely no possibility for the customers to “trade, exchange, purchase or sale of bitcoins, or any other virtual currency”.
Created in 1999 in Canada, NETELLER moved to Douglas, Isle of Man in 2004 and currently operates as a subsidiary for Optimal Payments known to have recently purchased another Internet fund transfer system for as many as $1.2+ billion. For a long period, NETELLER has been popular with millions of virtual casino gaming fans as the provider of payment services to numerous online gambling portals.
On March 24th, a discussion now counting over 200 comments was started on Reddit by users lucky enough to have spotted the newly-added functionality of refilling balance with bitcoins on the list of the available depositing options on NETELLER’s official website. Processor’s representative did not deny these allegations, hinting with a brief “It is brand new” statement at the fact the company has made its first step in the cryptocurrency deposit implementation. NETELLER also says in the beginning the service will not be offered to the U.S. clients.
